The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and blueprints, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers and clients to ensure successful project completion.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management.
Duties - Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to understand project requirements - Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment - Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information - Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and submit them to clients in a timely manner - Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather additional project information - Assist in negotiating contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers - Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and implement cost control measures as needed - Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate budgeting and scheduling - Utilize construction estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to streamline the estimating process Skills - Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and techniques - Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and contract documents - Excellent mathematical skills for accurate quantity takeoffs and cost calculations - Ability to negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers - Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively - Proficient in project management software for tracking costs, schedules, and progress - Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in cost estimation - Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers If you are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for construction estimating and a desire to contribute to successful projects, we would love to hear from you.
