a local fuel distributor has an immediate opening for an Experienced Dispatcher at their Gonzales, LA office.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the fuel and oil industry and contribute to the smooth running of the operation by efficient utilization of manpower and equipment through directing and controlling the efforts of drivers and administrative personnel (where applicable) using discretionary judgment to enforce Company Policy regarding operations and complying with state and federal laws.
Discretion required when dispatching drivers and assigning loads for:
local pick-ups, local delivery, ensuring that drivers are Qualified prior to dispatch, and coordinate dispatch activities Receive orders and enter into computer, assign load to equipment and driver in a manner to ensure on time pick-up and delivery of customers' requirements, prepare and issue all delivery documentation to the driver, and assure driver accurately completes and turns in all required paperwork; Daily interfaces with the customer, in a courteous manner, using independent judgment when handling loads based on the economics of the situation, equipment specifications and availability and driver availability and contacts the customer to apprise them of any delay or other arrangement once load is accepted; Assure necessary repair items are completed to minimize down time.
